According to the Lakers, Matt Barnes has officially exercised his option with the Lakers for the 11-12 season. Matt Barnes's first year with the Lakers was a successful one coming off the bench with the "Killer B's" including Steve Blake and Shannon Brown. LA's goal for last season was the three peat which they fell short of by getting knocked out by NBA Champions, Dallas Mavericks. While the Lakers were trying to stay healthy for the 10-11 season, Matt Barnes was not able to avoid the injury bug and was sidelined with a knee injury. Last month Barnes stated that he is still not 100% but is defiantly ready for the upcoming season.
